One of the first questions I hear from new parents is, “How do we prepare for our in-home newborn session?”
The answer is refreshingly simple: feed your baby before I arrive.
That’s it.
As a Cleveland newborn photographer specializing in in-home newborn sessions, I’ve intentionally created an experience that removes as much stress as possible from those first few weeks with your new baby. You won’t receive a long checklist of things to do beforehand because, honestly, you already have enough on your plate.
No Stress, No To-Do List
You won’t find instructions from me telling you to:
Keep your baby awake before the session
Give your baby a bath
Avoid certain foods if you’re breastfeeding
Set up your home a certain way, gather props, or clean for me!
None of those things are necessary (and yes, some newborn photographers do give these exact instructions on how to prepare for an in-home newborn session… some even give a multiple page set of instructions!)
Instead, I focus on working with your baby exactly as they are that day. Every newborn is different, and my workflow is designed to adapt to their needs.
I Bring the Studio to You
One of the biggest advantages of hiring an in-home newborn photographer is convenience.
I arrive with everything needed for a beautiful, studio-quality session, including wraps, blankets, posing accessories, and professional lighting. There’s no packing diaper bags, loading the car, or worrying about forgetting something important.
You get to stay home, stay comfortable, and enjoy a much more relaxed experience.
You Have Time to Get Ready
Many parents worry they’ll have to be camera-ready the minute I walk through the door.
The good news? Most of the session is spent photographing your baby individually. While I’m carefully posing and photographing your little one, you have plenty of time to shower, do your hair and makeup, get dressed, or simply enjoy a hot cup of coffee.
There’s no rush.
A Relaxed Experience from Beginning to End
The newborn days are a blur, and your photo session shouldn’t add unnecessary stress.
Feed your baby before I arrive, open the door when I get there, and I’ll take care of the rest. My goal is to create timeless newborn portraits while making the entire experience feel easy, calm, and enjoyable for your family.
If you’re looking for a Cleveland newborn photographer who brings the studio to your home and keeps the process simple, I’d love to help you preserve these fleeting first days with your new baby. Contact me for more info!
