Benefits of a Newborn Photographer Who Comes to Your House

I have been a traveling newborn photographer who comes to your house in the Cleveland area since 2012, and one of the things I hear most often from my clients is how convenient an in-home newborn session is. When you have a week old baby, packing up and getting out of the house can feel overwhelming. Did you remember enough diapers, wipes, bottles, and pacifiers? Snacks and water for yourself? Extra clothes in case of an inopportune blowout? And if you have other children (especially toddlers!), that can make the feat of traveling to a photography studio insurmountable! A week after giving birth, the last thing you will feel like doing is sitting in a hot newborn studio for 3 hours.

Cue the traveling newborn photographer! When you hire me for an in-home newborn session, I bring the studio to you. I bring everything we need (besides the baby!). This includes a studio light, backdrops, wraps and accessories for the baby, props, a heater, and white noise. I may be there for up to 3 hours, but parents and siblings are only needed for a short amount of time. The rest of that time includes me setting up/packing up, soothing and posing the baby, and allowing time for breaks, feedings, and snuggles. Basically, you get a babysitter and can take advantage of the time to take a nap, play with your older kids, get some work done, or catch up on the latest episodes of Below Deck 🙂

In all the years I have been photographing babies, I have never heard a client say that they regretting hiring a newborn photographer who comes to your house for their newborn session.
